Athlete Spotlight: Sue F.

Meet the one and only Sue “Fabulous” Freidus. This rockstar is the VERY definition of a dedicated athlete that prioritizes the “life well-lived” approach that we advocate for with our TFB Training Group athletes. Are you wondering, "What is this life well-lived thing all about?"

Well, let's first share Sue's story. A dedicated runner, Boston Marathoner, busy professional, supportive friend, beloved wife, and a fur-mom, she doesn't have a shortage of “titles” and hats to wear. However, through it all, she juggles the demands and needs of those around her with a sense of determination to prioritize her well-being, self-care, and fitness.

See, when others are sleeping, Sue gets up and heads out to tackle her runs, strength training, prehab, and yoga. She knows that for her to be able to be her best for both herself and those around her that first, she needs to provide herself with “me time." She walks away from her fitness time with a sense of empowerment that helps her feel tall, confident, and ready to slay the day!

That's not all, though - after shoulder replacement surgery caused her to step back from her training, she focused on healing post-surgery but still kept up with her routine.

Sure, it looked a bit differently, yoga became meditation (a practice she still uses), running became light walks, and most of all, she practiced the same care and compassion she famously bestows on others to herself.

Yes, it's true kindness begins within, and she never stopped being a vital supporter and cheerleader for others!

I think it's fair to say we love Fabulous Freidus, and we are happy to report that the feeling is mutual!

A life well-lived is more than just the “finish line” though, we all love some finish lines around here at TFB Training - It's about finding the balance of giving to others, while still prioritizing our well-being.

It's about saying “yes” to adventures, getting a bit comfortable with being uncomfortable, and seeing challenges as opportunities for growth. Sue is a shining star and shows us how its done.
